The Arc of Massachusetts “Home for the Future” Capital Campaign

The Home for the Future Capital Campaign is raising $1.6 million for the construction of a new statewide headquarters. The building reflects our core values: accessibility, inclusion, and collaboration.

While this is a new chapter in our history, it does not change our core mission. The new building will allow The Arc to remain at the forefront of the struggle to build better lives for those with disabilities. It will allow us to better serve our mission by increasing our capacity. From the moment, the building opened at the end of March, The Arc of Massachusetts was welcoming partners in the disability community and families for meetings, programs, and trainings.

A $100,000 Fundraising Challenge

Like the 200,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in Massachusetts, The Arc of Massachusetts is no stranger to challenges. So when three long-time supporters of The Arc of Massachusetts issued a fundraising challenge recently, we were excited to accept it.

If The Arc of Massachusetts raises at least $200,000 in new gifts and commitments for the Home for the Future Capital Campaign, we will receive an additional gift of $100,000! All commitments must be received by June 30, 2017 in order to count toward the challenge.

The donors, who want to remain anonymous until the challenge has been met, are eager to help The Arc complete the $1.6 million campaign. Donors essentially can increase their gift by 50% – it is a tremendous return on investment and an opportunity to make a larger impact with your gift.

About the New Headquarters

The Arc of Massachusetts is now able to hold meetings with our dozens of partner agencies, host legislators and supporters in comfort, conduct efficient legislative outreach, offer a venue for workshops for family members and professionals, and provide a suitable work environment for our team of staff, volunteers and work-study students. The new 3,600 square foot building is fully accessible to people with a range of disabilities and significantly increase our capacity.

The Arc’s new home was built on the site of the previous headquarters and includes:

  • a 20-person conference room with partitions to divide the room into two smaller conference rooms
  • an 8-person conference room
  • handicap-accessible bathrooms
  • offices for staff, volunteers and work-study students
  • resource center
  • document repository
