We are excited to share WBZ’s coverage of The Arc of South Norfolk’s ALEC program. This fourteen year old program provides training for first responders so that they have the tools to assist those with intellectual and developmental disabilities including autism. ALEC’s trainings have proven to be effective throughout Massachusetts.
On Friday, December 16, The Arc of Massachusetts lit up the Prudential Tower in our signature orange as part of The Shops at Prudential Center 31 Nights of Light celebration. The Prudential Center selects a nonprofit partner for each night in December and lights the Prudential Tower in the organization’s color. The annual event has been taking place since 2009 and helps to raise awareness of important causes. The Arc of Massachusetts was delighted to be chosen as a lighting partner this year!
Please see The Arc in action in Massachusetts! This time helping first responders learn to work with persons with autism and other developmental disabilities. The Arc of South Norfolk’s ALEC (Autism & Law Enforcement Education Coalition) program was featured on NECN on Halloween night. Watch the clip below to learn more about the program and how it is providing important training for first responders.
