Operation House Call‘s Robyn Dollar and her family opened their home and warmed our hearts in a wonderful interview with WBZ’s Paula Ebben. The Dollar Family, along with Reid Haflich, a BU School of Medicine student and Anne-Terese- Van dur burg, a Yale School of Nursing student, shared the hands on experience of Operation House Call.
“Last week, I had the pleasure of talking to Lisa Hughes of WBZ-TV 4 and seeing Ted Wong’s family again, mom Corine Burke, Ted’s father Fred and stepfather Mike. Ted has excelled at Walmart. A job coach supports Ted there through Lifeworks, an affiliate of The Arc. Lisa had a good grasp on disability as was demonstrated through the video clip that night and in her introduction of the interview on the 5pm news. The clip was repeated twice, once later that night on TV 38. With her help, we advanced the public’s understanding on the workplace contributions that individuals with disabilities make.”
