Celebrate 60 Years of The Arc of Massachusetts on Thursday, November 19th!

60anniversarylogoWEBTRANSPARENTThe Arc of Massachusetts is marking a significant milestone this year: 60 years of advocating for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. On Thursday, November 19th, members, families, friends, and advocates will gather to celebrate The Arc’s many accomplishments and look ahead to the next 60 years.

Tracy Atkinson, Vice President of The Arc of Massachusetts, is serving as chair of the committee that is working to make the Gala a resounding success. Joining Atkinson are co-chairs and fellow board members Marty Courage and Sue Lodemore, as well as a committee of dedicated volunteers.

“Over the past six decades, The Arc of Massachusetts has relentlessly fought to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families,” said Atkinson. “We have made great progress, but there are still many more challenges ahead. The 60th anniversary gala will be an opportunity to reflect on our history, celebrate our successes, and focus on our goals for the future.”

Honorees
Innumerable activists, advocates, public officials, leaders, and family members have played a crucial role in shaping and advancing The Arc’s mission and programs in the 60 years since its founding. Executive Director Leo Sarkissian said that an occasion like this is an ideal time to honor and recognize some of the people who were instrumental in The Arc’s success. “There are so many people and groups who helped define our organization. We will be spotlighting several people whose impact was far-reaching and lasting, as well as some of the entities who contributed significantly to advancing The Arc’s mission,” Sarkissian said.

Sponsorship Opportunities
State Street Corporation is the gala’s presenting sponsor. “We are very grateful to State Street for their generosity and their continuing commitment to our mission. As the lead sponsor, they are demonstrating both how important advocating for persons with disabilities is and how confident they are The Arc will remain at the forefront of this work,” said Katrin Aback, The Arc’s Director of Development.

A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available and start at $1,000. Your support as a sponsor makes The Arc’s vital advocacy work, efforts to educate families directly and through chapters, and the removal of remaining barriers to full inclusion in the community possible.
