You can make a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families by volunteering with The Arc of Massachusetts or one of our Local Chapters.
Helping out does not need to be a regular or long-term commitment. Even if you can volunteer only on an occasional basis, your efforts can make a real difference in the work of The Arc.
The Arc of Massachusetts needs volunteers to assist us with a variety of roles, including:
- Outreach and education
- Office support
In addition, we often need assistance with special events, such as our annual All Aboard The Arc fundraiser, as well as other fundraisers, seminars, and meetings.
Supervision for academic credit is available, LICSW on staff, as well as staff with other graduate degrees such as Public Administration. Please visit our Careers page for more information on our available positions and internship opportunities.
The Arc of Massachusetts provides a limited number of internships and field placements. Specific opportunities include:
- Public Policy (policy research, legislative, etc.)
- Marketing & Development
- Training & Public Education
- Public Relations
- Internet Communication & Updates
Local Chapters of The Arc in Massachusetts often need volunteers to work with individuals with disabilities, participate in a local committee or board, or provide office support to keep up with the workload. In addition, you may have special skills (as a writer, event planner, fundraiser, artist, craftsperson, photographer, or computer programmer) that would be of tremendous value. To find and contact your Local Chapter, please visit our Chapters’ Page.
