Insider’s View: Representative Jay Kaufman

KaufmanI represent the 15th Middlesex District which includes the town of Lexington and two wards in Woburn. I first joined the legislature twenty years ago and currently chair the Joint Committee on Revenue. Over the years I have been honored to work with Minute Man Arc for Human Services and other groups to insure that we are meeting the needs of all those in our community. This year, as in the past, I have sponsored legislation to provide insurance coverage for medically-necessary treatment for speech therapy, disease, illness, injury, and bodily dysfunction. The burden placed on families with medical conditions can be overwhelming. Each year the legislature is faced with limited resources to adequately address the needs of many in the Commonwealth, and I am committed to being a strong voice for adequate revenue and for all those living in my district. -Representative Jay Kaufman

  1. I am in Rep. Cronin district and wanted to thank you for all your help with the disabled. Services for my son are much appreciated. Right now we are caught in the middle of changes as we are applying for AFC and PCA and do not know which will work best for my son. The devil is in the details which are unknown. The AFC application for AFC has taken 8 months so far. Pca was postponed as I was told and expected 2 months. So I held off on PCA. I believe that the PCA could have been used during the wait for AFC. The effect of changes is difficult on us.
