I currently represent the Plymouth and Barnstable District which includes the towns of Kingston, Pembroke, Plymouth, Bourne, Falmouth and Sandwich. In addition to having the privilege of being appointed the ranking minority member on the Ways and Means committee; where I have the opportunity to work with the Commonwealth’s budget matters, I serve on the following committees: Community Development and Small Businesses; Economic Development and Emerging Technologies; Financial Services; Rules; Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development; Personnel and Administration; Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets; Municipalities and Regional Government; Prior to my election as Senator I served as a member of the House of Representatives for 16 years.
Over the years I have appreciated the ability to work with The Arc of Greater Plymouth to find ways that the Legislature can give a voice to our most vulnerable citizens. In my role as a Legislator, I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet with clients and staff from The Arc and learn more about the ways I can assist them in overcoming the challenges they face. I believe these opportunities to hear from my constituents and seek solutions that can improve their lives are the most rewarding part of my job. I look forward to continuing to develop this relationship.
