TD Garden and Garden Neighborhood Charities proudly announce the addition of sixteen more high school basketball games to the TD Garden schedule. The Good Sports TD Garden Invitational returns for the second year in a row on Saturday, January 10, featuring eight Massachusetts public high school match-ups.
We especially encourage you to join us on January 19, Martin Luther King Day, where The Arc Massachusetts will benefit from a Holiday Challenge featuring eight New England private school match-ups.
These eight exciting matchups on January 19 will not only be a great basketball showcase for hoop fans but also honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, whose noble civil rights leadership projected an inspiring message of social justice and equal opportunity. Advocacy for persons with disabilities benefited greatly from the civil rights movement.
Kathy Martinez who heads disability policy at the U.S. Department of Labor has said, “There is no question that the civil rights movement led by Dr. Martin Luther King and others inspired the disability rights efforts”.
TD Garden has a proud history of supporting local high school athletic programs and has been hosting MIAA boys and girls high school hockey and basketball since its opening in 1995.
