A Vigil for Nicky’s Law: What’s Next? (Updated: 12/3)

On Thursday, November 15, The Arc of Massachusetts participated in a vigil at the Massachusetts State House in support of the Abuse Registry Bill, also known as Nicky’s Law. Advocates came out in droves to show their support for the passage of this vital protections bill. But as The Arc has previously stated, our work is not yet done. We will be continuing to partake in these vigils for Nicky’s Law in the days and weeks to come. Here is the first round of information on the dates we will be participating at the State House.

  • Monday, November 19: 1:00pm – 2:30pm (Leo Sarkissian and Ellen Taverna, The Arc of Massachusetts)
  • Tuesday, November 20: 10:00am – 11:30am (Charlie Fiske, The Arc of Massachusetts)
  • Tuesday, November 20: 1:30pm – 3:00pm (Maura Sullivan, The Arc of Massachusetts)
  • Monday, November 26: until 1:00pm (Maura Sullivan, The Arc of Massachusetts)
  • Thursday, November 29: 10:30am – 2:00pm (Maura Sullivan, The Arc of Massachusetts)
  • Thursday, November 29: 11:00am – 12:30pm (Hillary Dunn Stanisz and Rick Glassman, Disability Law Center)
  • Tuesday, December 4: 11:30am – 1:30pm (Cheryl Ryan Chan, Nicky’s mom)
  • Tuesday, December 4: 12:00pm – 4:00pm (Maura Sullivan, The Arc of Massachusetts)
  • Wednesday, December 5: 11:00am (Herb Cabral, The Arc of Massachusetts)
  • Thursday, December 6: 10:30am – 1:30pm (Cheryl Ryan Chan, Nicky’s mom)
  • Thursday, December 6: 2:00pm – 4:00pm (Maura Sullivan, The Arc of Massachusetts)

Our base for these vigils will be on the 4th floor of the State House, near the cafe. If you are planning to participate, please contact Maura Sullivan at Sullivan@arcmass.org. And of course, feel free to continue your visits independently. Every voice matters.
