Despite the good news we shared about the state budget two weeks ago, we know that some people are struggling out there. Some people are worried and/or stressed, and some are just trying to make it through the day. Even if you or your family have services, you may worry. Today’s blog is aimed at those of you who are struggling each day.
We want to be responsive – so how will we help you if we don’t have the resources to help each one of you individually?
It’s simple. We need you to tell us how you need assistance here by telling your story. Please share your contact information and the specifics about your needs, or the needs of your family member(s). We will collect stories based on area and advocate collectively on behalf of you.
In addition, if you are interested (we’ll ask you first), we will connect you to our Advocacy Alliance efforts so we can make an impact on how services are explained and the assistance that is offered while people wait, and improve local assistance to individuals or families in general.
We will need you to let us know as you are contacted for your needs. We’ll make communication easy, but although it will take time, we do expect those working in the service system to respond. The waiting time you experience also will help communicate with the state legislature with specific facts about their constituents’ unmet needs. Sometimes it will be about requiring additional resources on the local level.
