On May 15, Operation House Call kicked off a new academic year at Tufts University School of Medicine. This session featured a wonderful, first time coteacher – and long time friend of The Arc – Samantha Gibbs.
Samantha asked the students questions regarding their medical experiences, both generally and with individuals with disabilities, including “Are you afraid of treating patients with Down syndrome?” and “What inspires you to be a doctor?”
Feedback from students included remarks that “Sam made our day!” and “We are so lucky to learn from Sam and her family!”
The next step? The students of Tufts University School of Medicine will now be taking part in their home visits with our amazing Operation House Call host families!
