This weekend, Commissioner Jane Ryder of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) released a new visitation policy for families of individuals living in DDS funded homes or settings. It goes into effect this Wednesday, June 10.
The Arc is pleased to see the new visitation policy and thanks DDS for moving forward. We also realize there will be situations which will require more person-centered approaches, such as individuals being served who will not be able to understand social distancing.
As re-opening continues, we expect the policy will evolve. In the meantime, please continue to share your concerns – DDS is interested in your feedback and we appreciate it as well.
