The Arc of Massachusetts is excited to announce that Operation House Call is partnering with Tufts Dental School to begin training dental students about best practices when providing treatment to individuals with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The program will begin as a pilot this spring, and will roll out in a more robust manner in the next academic year. We are excited for this opportunity given the struggles that individuals and families have finding access to quality dental care.
We also know that dental emergencies can be avoided when dentists are willing to work, understand, and be flexible with patients with autism and I/DD.
We are grateful to Tufts for this new partnership opportunity, and look forward to sharing more in the new year.
