Rick Daswani, CPA, is a Partner in EY’s Advisory Services practice, specializing in serving insurance clients in the areas of Property & Casualty, Life, and Managed Care. He has worked in the Financial Services industry for 16 years, serving clients of all sizes, ranging from middle market to Fortune 500 companies.
Rick is drawn to the cause of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as those who support them. “While I do not have a direct connection to the world of disabilities, I have seen the importance of accessibility and the unheralded role of the caregiver as part of watching my family step into that role due to illness,” he explained. “Those experiences have shown me how complex of a world the rules and regulations are in terms of public accommodation and eligibility for services that put up barriers to inclusion.”
“I’m excited to join The Arc to help advance the mission of enhancing the lives of people with I/DD, including autism, and their families. Through education and advocacy, barriers can be broken down to promote opportunities for individuals with I/DD so they can have full access and a level playing field for full inclusion in all aspects of life.”
He added, “I’m looking forward to bringing my energy and perspective of the healthcare industry and technology to The Arc to see how we can advance the mission of the organization and propel The Arc of Massachusetts to another level by expanding access to our advocacy programs.”
