On Tuesday, June 11, the Executive Office of Health and Human Services released new rates effective this July 1 for certain human services, two of which relate to our constituents: Community Based Day Supports (CBDS) and Supported Employment (SE) Services.
The rate release for both includes an “add-on” for “Workforce Initiative” of 2.9% of 2018 revenue received for the respective services or supports. This is in addition to specific rate increases for both programs.
The Arc commends Secretary Marylou Sudders and the Baker Administration for these rate increases. The Arc recognizes the work of the Collaborative of trade organizations which have been working closely with with EOHHS over the past months on a rate increase. The Collaborative includes: The Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABH), the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers (ADDP), the Providers’ Council, and the Children’s League of Massachusetts.
We have more to analyze in the coming days including the full impact of the add-on based on 2018 revenue in CBDS and SE services.
The Arc is grateful for the families, individuals and legislators who continue to work with us to address the workforce shortage crisis. Stay tuned for more details.
