After I’m Gone: Continuing Semi-Independent Lifestyles
Tuesday, July 21 @ 12:00PM

This webinar will discuss adults with autism or other disabilities with developmental disabilities only and their families. The session will include a panel and a discussion on continuing semi-independent lifestyles as families age and are less active in supporting loved ones.

We know that it’s hard to think of the future when you’re busy in the present. However, if you begin now, make changes gradually and prepare, you can ease the transition. There is no better way to change the future than to plan for it.

Federal Policy Alert:
Navigating Recent Changes to Medicaid and Community Rights
Thursday, July 23 @ 12:00PM

The landscape of disability rights is continuously shifting.

From the new federal interim final rule on Medicaid work requirements and a concerning new DOJ opinion regarding Olmstead, the federal protections we rely on are facing unprecedented pressure.

Join The Arc of Massachusetts Government Affairs team and special guest Ellen Taverna, Director of Federal & State Medicaid Policy from The Arc of the United States for a crucial briefing where we will cut through the noise and provide:

  • The Facts: A clear breakdown of what these federal changes mean for you, your family, and the programs we depend on.
  • Expert Insights: Hear from leaders in the field as we analyze the impact of these shifts on home- and community-based services
  • The Path Forward: Concrete, actionable next steps for your advocacy. While the federal government may be signaling a shift in enforcement, our rights remain the law of the land and we must be organized, informed, and ready to protect them.

We know these updates can feel overwhelming, but they do not have to be insurmountable. Come prepared to ask questions, share your concerns, and join us in our ongoing fight to ensure that every individual has the right to live, learn, work, and belong in their community.
