The Arc of Massachusetts Is Seeking a Director of Education and Outreach

The Director of Education and Outreach will lead efforts to educate families about community supports across the life cycle. They will work with public and private agencies to address gaps in information and support; advance the knowledge base among chapters and partners to advance opportunities for our constituents; advance innovation as part of the leadership team and ensure that The Arc is responsive; and oversee projects related to supports and services.

Specific examples of duties include:

  • As part of leadership team, plan outreach and education across agency for the year
  • Coordinate series of webinars including a subset of ‘evergreen’ videos, podcasts and fact sheets (develop over time)
  • Oversee The Arc’s response to unmet needs
  • Oversee Info Referral and develop efficient ways to refer persons locally for assistance, and document unmet needs
  • Support diverse communities including grant-funding to target pilot activities
  • Help develop Volunteer Mentors or coaches with others
  • Oversee biennial Transition conference       
  • Work with the Department of Developmental Services in Charting the LifeCourse, Mass Partnership for Transition to Employment, Parent with IDD groups, and other activities

Salary range is $50K-$60K and schedule flexibility from 32 hours to full-time position.
