This week’s Direct Support Professional (DSP) Conference held on Cape Cod is a highlight amid the continuing staffing crisis and lack of adequate support to many constituents with disabilities.

Agencies continue to try creative ideas to recruit, retain and advance their workforce. Families are working overtime to maintain some balance in their homes.

But this event spans across regions and all providers with the goal of recognizing the DSPs who work each day to advance lives and support individuals.  For me, it renews spirits and encourages all of us to appreciate the staff who are committed to individuals with disabilities.

This conference is a commitment to those who make that daily commitment.

Special thanks to the team that made it happen, the agencies which invested in the conference, and others who provided training and encouragement.  The picture you see is of the conference’s “back stage” crew.  A special shout out to all of you for making the event an oasis of celebration!
