Please contact your State Representative today and urge them to cosponsor a critical amendment to the House budget.
This action alert focuses on one unique amendment; a second action alert will be shared tomorrow in support of our other priorities.
Last week, the House Ways and Means Committee released their version of the FY26 budget. Upon analyzing this proposal, The Arc of Massachusetts was concerned to see a significant cut in the DESE-DDS Residential Placement Prevention Program line item. This line item has been consistently funded at $10.5 million for years – but in this proposal, it was reduced by $8.5 million.
While we believe that this may have been an oversight, if this cut was made it would be absolutely devastating. Please contact your State Representative today and urge them to cosponsor the amendment to restore funding.
