The Arc of Massachusetts held our annual celebration of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and autism and all that is possible on Thursday, February 11. The Endless Possibilities Virtual Gala and Auction was held entirely online and raised $175,000 through sponsorships, donations, and the auction.
Paula Ebben, WBZ-4 CBS Boston news anchor, served as the event emcee. We were joined by special guests Senator Edward Markey and Governor Charlie Baker and entertainment was provided by individuals with I/DD and autism.
At the heart of the gala program were three inspirational stories about caregiving during the pandemic, a residence for people with complex medical conditions, and how employment can transform lives.
“As in years past, the gala celebrated the accomplishments of remarkable people with disabilities, but this year we also wanted to recognize the incredible efforts and sacrifices made by the Direct Support Professionals (DSP) who, especially during the pandemic, have been absolutely crucial in their caregiving role,” said Executive Director Leo Sarkissian. “Having Senator Markey and Governor Baker join us demonstrated the importance of the issues facing people with disabilities and the need to support them, their families, and their caregivers.”
The Arc of Massachusetts is deeply grateful to the generous sponsors and donors who contributed to the Endless Possibilities Virtual Gala and Auction!
