I represent the 3rd Middlesex District — Bedford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Lincoln, Waltham, Weston, and large parts of Lexington and Sudbury.
I’ve served as Senate Chair Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy as well as serve on four other committees.
For 17 years before my 2012 election I made my living in healthcare and information technology, first as CEO and General Counsel of the Visiting Nurse Associations of New England and then as a healthcare IT analyst for Forrester Research and Critical Mass Consulting.
With State Representative Denise Provost, I’m pleased to co-chair the Legislature’s Disabilities Caucus. In concert with advocates and activists, the Caucus held its inaugural meeting in June 2015. The difficulties posed by each physical, emotional and cognitive challenge seem so distinctive; but distinctiveness needn’t mean fragmentation. The Caucus will help foster broad awareness which will generate discussion and which will, I hope, produce ideas such as using technology to accommodate work and careers.
