The Arc is very happy to report that both the House and Senate moved further on our workforce crisis in their Economic Spending Bills. H5007 included $100 million for programs or services related to Chapter 257. The Senate version S3018, includes an additional $150 million rate increase for Chapter 257 as well.
The increase is what we have been advocating for all session and is critical to address our workforce crisis among direct support staff, frontline managers, nurses, and other key employees.
Please send this email to your Representative and Senator to thank them for these bills and to please include the Senate’s $250 million and corresponding language for Chapter 257 in their final conference bill. Please do this today!
