Today (Wednesday, September 17), The Arc of Massachusetts held a briefing at the State House focused on home and community-based services (HCBS). In this pivotal moment, state legislators learned about the importance of these services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and brain injury, as well as the monumental evolution from the dark days of institutionalization. You can learn more about HCBS here.
The message was clear: we cannot, and we will not, go back. HCBS is here to stay!
Now, we need your help. Using this new and easily fillable template, please share your own story about how critical HCBS services are with your state legislators.
If you have any questions or need support to tell your story, please contact Director of Government Affairs & Strategic Partnerships Nora Bent at nbent@arcmass.org.
