This week, we celebrate Direct Support Professionals Week, which began on Sunday and ends Saturday.
We had anticipated DSP week with last Thursday’s blog on our continued advocacy for the workforce and reflection on education and recognition.
John F. Kennedy, Jr. appreciated and recognized the workforce when he stated: “Quality is defined at the point of interaction between the staff member and the individual with a disability.”
Without forgetting front line managers, clinicians, family caregivers, the individuals with disabilities themselves and others, we want to give a shout out to DSPs who daily keep the torch of civil rights and inclusion alive. Thank you for your commitment, and thank you for your presence.
