Hi everyone, it’s Maura from The Arc. Happy Thanksgiving week.
I’m reaching out today to our caregivers and those who love and appreciate them. As we head into Thanksgiving and the holiday season, I want you to know that The Arc is grateful for the incredible work you do with love and expertise to keep our community strong.
As caregivers, I know you are often pulled in many directions, and sometimes the responsibilities can be overwhelming. I want to acknowledge the challenges we face when the systems are not supporting families as they should. I know all too well this is the new normal since the workforce shortage crisis.
For the FY26 budget, caregiver support is a priority on The Arc’s agenda. We will be advocating specifically for more family support, and we will continue to prioritize our bill that will allow caregivers and guardians to be paid PCA and AFC providers. Stay connected to The Arc for more caregiver advocacy initiatives.
