Operation House Call recently hosted our third class at UMass Chan Medical School with an incredible group of healthcare advocates, including Jennifer Drohan, Peter and Jarod Wyman, Riley Easley, and Jonathan Gardner.
Students in this session were able to absorb key learning objectives through the personal family stories shared by our co-teachers. Topics covered included emergency department boarding with autism, the challenges of being medically complex and in crisis during the pandemic, adult life for an adult with autism living in the community, and the story of a young adult with autism who battled cancer and taught his providers a whole lot along the way.
We are so grateful for our teaching team and all of the amazing host families that keep this vital program going strong!
