Don Stewart, past President of the Board of The Arc of Massachusetts, passed away on July 19 at age 83. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, three children, and grandchildren.
As President from 1997-2000, Don played a key role in advocacy and strategic planning. During that period, The Arc combined litigation with ongoing legislative advocacy, which resulted in thousands of adults with developmental disabilities in the Commonwealth receiving services.
In addition to his leadership, Don and Elizabeth have been generous supporters of The Arc. Our thoughts are with his family and all who knew him. You can read a full obituary here.
