We are in a moment of great crisis.

Congress recently passed a bill that will cut $1 trillion from Medicaid over the next 10 years. This will mean devastating cuts and fundamental changes to programs that are relied upon by millions of Americans, including many in the disability community. This will harm people, families, the human services workforce, providers, and the state budget.

In addition to advocating against Medicaid cuts, we are focused on safeguarding the overarching protections of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Medicaid-funded home and community-based services, and more. This summer marks the 35th anniversary of the ADA. As we march, rally, and organize, we must also continue to advocate directly to our state leaders to protect these lifelines. Our message is clear: protect Medicaid, home and community-based services, and the ADA.

We are lucky to live in Massachusetts, whose commitment to affordable and accessible healthcare, public education, accessibility, and other vital services leads the nation. But we must work with our state to ensure that in the coming months and years, as state budgets are increasingly restricted by the federal government, we are protecting Medicaid home and community-based services, including the Personal Care Attendant (PCA) program, and other long-term supports.

Please use this action alert to write to Governor Healey today and ask that she works to support this community by protecting the services and supports that so many rely on.

Remember: it always helps to add a personal story to the action alert. Add in your story about why these services help you live your best and most authentic life.

Thank you for taking action!
