The Arc of Massachusetts is a co-sponsor of the Disability and American Past Series (8 separate sessions) hosted by the Massachusetts Historical Society (MHS). MHS’ first offering is on October 7 and the eighth session is on October 28, with six sessions on dates in between.
The series is aimed at members of the public, academic researchers, and educators. Through panel conversations, presentations, and discussion, MHS will:
- introduce the field of disability history
- investigate some major research areas in the field such as activism, material culture, medical history, technology, and citizenship
- and provide a forum to examine new, emerging scholarship in this seminar series
