On May 28, The Arc of Massachusetts had an excellent turn out of legislators, staff, and advocates at our briefing focused on improving healthcare for people with IDD and autism.
The Arc of Massachusetts collaborated with Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center to advance H172 (S1401), currently in Ways and Means.
Thank you to Representative Sean Garballey and Senator Jason Lewis for their leadership and commitment. We are grateful to our panel members Ashley Waring, Dr. Carol Weitzman, and Dr. Marilyn Augustyn for supporting this legislation that will establish standards of care, continuing education credits and requirements, as well as establish a committee of stakeholders to develop these standards.
