The Arc of Massachusetts has been advocating for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities for 70 years. Executive Director Leo Sarkissian has been leading the non-profit for the last 32 years. He said that there’s also a “wide range” within autism itself— from people going to college to those with complex medical conditions.
“Some people need 24/7 care. And the families are the primary caregivers in many cases,” Sarkissian said. “When we advocate, we advocate for everybody.”
Each Wednesday in the weeks leading up to the Gala, our Official Media Partner, WBZ NewsRadio 1030, will air a story about the people of The Arc of Massachusetts.
