The Arc Is Here to Answer the Call

We are living through a moment that tests not only our systemsbut our values.

The challenges facing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism in Massachusetts are growing. As federal policies shift, funding gaps widen, and workforce shortages deepen, thousands of families are left wondering: Who will help?

At The Arc of Massachusetts, we are here to answer that call. For nearly 70 years, we’ve led the charge in advocating for the rights, inclusion, and dignity of people with IDD and autism. Today, that leadership is more necessary than ever.

The Arc is responding by:

  • Mobilizing advocates to contact their Senators and Representatives to urge them to protect vital programs like Medicaid and SNAP
  • Developing a policy platform that advances bills that are important to our community, including uplifting the workforce, promoting health equity, and supporting inclusion and empowerment
  • Offering advocacy trainings that have already empowered hundreds of families, self-advocates, and professionals this year
  • Creating and distributing Fact Sheets to break down complex programs and issues such as Social Security, Home and Community-Based Services, and Medicaid
  • Educating future medical professionals in best practices for patients with IDD and autism through Operation House Call

But none of this is possible without you.

Your gift to the Annual Fund fuels this critical work – ensuring that we remain bold, responsive, and relentless in our pursuit of equity and opportunity for all.

I invite you to stand with the hundreds of thousands of people who are counting on us to act. The challenges our community is facing are not going to go away any time soon. But with your gift, you make advocacy, education, and outreach possible. We can’t let up!

With gratitude,
