Last week, the Massachusetts State Senate completed its blueprint of the budget. Funding in both the House and Senate include The Arc’s priorities. Increases in Day, Employment, and Family Support are in both branches. Other line items such as Residential and Autism Omnibus appear to have adequate funding.

Thank you to Senate President Spilka and all senators for their support. The budget now goes to Conference Committee for the House and Senate to work out differences in their blueprints

In other news, the Boston Globe reported that there could be a clash over who decides how $5.3 billion in federal relief funds are spent: “Lawmakers plan to pass legislation as soon as next week that would push the funds into a coronavirus relief trust fund, where they would be ‘subject to appropriation.’”
