BREAKING: On Friday, July 4, Governor Maura Healey signed the final FY26 State Budget.
We are pleased to report that all of our areas of funding — the DDS line items, the human service workforce (Chapter 257), and The Arc’s earmarks (Operation House Call, mobile crisis, Pappas, and MAICEI) — are safe and were not included in any vetoed items.
A new important item of note included in the budget: the ability for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to set a schedule for childhood vaccines without relying on the guidance of the newly reshaped CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
In devastating news, the latest analysis following the passage of the federal budget reveals that Medicaid changes could cost Massachusetts anywhere from $15 billion to $25 billion over the next decade.
Stay tuned to The Arc of Massachusetts for more information next week. Thank you to the Governor, the legislature, and to all of our champions and advocates!
