I represent the Second Worcester Senate District, which includes my hometown of Millbury, as well as the towns of Auburn, Grafton, Leicester, Shrewsbury, Upton, sections of Northbridge, and parts of the City of Worcester. I currently serve as the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security and the Joint Committee on Bonding, Capital and State Assets. In addition, Iām a member of several other legislative committees; including the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, which reviews all legislation involving state financing.
I was elected to the Senate after a long career in public service, which included time working for the Massachusetts Environmental Police, and the Worcester Sheriff’s Department. My work in the field of criminal justice and as a member of the Millbury Board of Selectmen continues to influence my legislative work, where I prioritize public safety and the role local communities play in moving Massachusetts forward. My years in the Senate have allowed me to develop a significant understanding of constituent priorities across the Second Worcester District and the Commonwealth, and I am always focused on advocating for the needs of residents and communities I serve.
