Hundreds of Operation House Call medical and nursing students respond to surveys and reflect about their experience with the program in our student forum. They often mention how they will “never forget” meeting Amir Harper, Jonathan Gardner, and the many other powerful co-teachers who share their lived experience to help students learn how best to support them.

This year, Amir Harper became our second official OHC Ambassador. The OHC Ambassador program is made possible through the generous support of the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism.

Amir is a senior at Revere High School. In addition to working for Operation House Call, Amir has another mentorship job at a music program called Zumix. Amir has been an important team member for OHC for over 5 years. He has also served multiple times as co-emcee of The Arc of Massachusetts and Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council Annual Legislative Reception.

He enjoys representing the autism community and sharing his insights with medical professionals. Amir is also a talented musician and we can’t wait to see what is next for him as he pursues his higher education goals.

The OHC team is proud of Amir’s growth and confidence as a public speaker, especially as a powerful healthcare self-advocate!
