We are excited to welcome Leela Uppaluri to our Operation House Call (OHC) team for the summer. Leela will be working with our family engagement team on the OHC Sibling Network, a place for siblings to connect for advocacy, camaraderie, and support. We’ll let Leela introduce herself:
“I’m an incoming freshman at Harvard College. In my free time, I enjoy going on runs, reading, and spending time with my brother, Kiran, who has autism. Having a personal connection to The Arc’s mission, I’m passionate about supporting families and creating meaningful opportunities for connection. I’m excited to contribute to the sibling engagement initiative, learn from the OHC team, and help make a positive impact in our community. I look forward to getting to know everyone!”
As it begins, the OHC Sibling Network will focus on siblings who are aged approximately 14-24 years old (high school, college, young adult). Leela plans to arrange 1 or 2 sibling meet-ups this summer.
Does your loved one with IDD and/or autism have any siblings who may want to participate? If so, please take about 2 minutes to share their information with Leela using this form: OHC Sibling Network Interest Form
Questions or ideas to share? Feel free to contact Leela at luppaluri@arcmass.org or Ashley Waring, OHC Family Engagement Director, at awaring@arcmass.org.
