The Arc of Massachusetts is thrilled to share a victory for our community! Thanks to your incredible response to our recent action alert, a top priority amendment for The Arc of Massachusetts ā the DESE-DDS amendment ā has officially passed in the Senate budget.
We are deeply grateful to Senate Ways and Means for taking a deep dive into this crucial program and recognizing the profound impact it has on our families. Special thanks go to Senator Robyn Kennedy, Chairman Michael Rodrigues, and Senate President Karen Spilka for their unwavering leadership and support in passing this amendment.
If successfully maintained in the final conference committee budget, this $1.2 million in funding will expand the DESE-DDS program, allowing more families in need of substantial support to receive the services necessary to stay at home together.
Thank you to everyone who raised their voice, made a call, or sent an email. Your advocacy made this happen! We will keep you updated as the budget moves to the conference committee.
Stay tuned for outcomes and full analysis of all our Senate budget amendments.
