The state budget process spans several months before being finalized, and advocacy is critical throughout. Right now, the House is debating amendments to the House Ways and Means Committee’s budget proposal. The Arc of Massachusetts worked with our legislative champions to file several amendments aimed at strengthening funding and protecting services in key areas that impact individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism. Due to looming cuts at the federal level, this is a particularly constrained budget year, making it even more important to safeguard funding for essential services and supports.
