The Arc of Massachusetts is proud to announce that CEO Maura Sullivan has been recognized as a Pay-It-Forward Awardee by The Courage Project.
The Courage Project is a bold initiative honoring everyday acts of bravery – the quiet, often unseen acts of heroism that reflect the best of the American spirit and strengthen democracy at the community level.
“Maura Sullivan, CEO of The Arc of Massachusetts, has sounded the alarm about how the end of Temporary Protected Status for Haitian immigrants will affect people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who rely on Haitian direct support professionals, home health aides, and caregivers. By connecting federal immigration policy to immediate, tangible consequences for some of the state’s most vulnerable residents, Sullivan has helped keep the issue in front of lawmakers, reporters, and the public at a moment when it might otherwise have been treated as unrelated to disability policy.”
