Dear Advocates,

The Arc is grateful for Governor Healey’s House 1 Budget, as well as the House Ways and Means budget released by Chairman Michlewitz last Wednesday. However, The Arc continues to prioritize our advocacy to focus on those who do not have access to day programs.

We ask that you join us in this advocacy by taking action with your State Representative.  We need your Representative to cosponsor the following important amendments to this budget as it moves to a House debate next week.

Please request that your Representative cosponsors:

  1. Representative Sean Garballey’s amendment #1288, Addressing Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Not Receiving Services Through Day Programs, to include an additional $5.6 million in this line item.
  2. Representative James O’Day’s amendment, No People Left Behind, #1535, to address those who have not returned to day services, including those in MassHealth Day Habilitation.

These amendments are of great importance to our community and we thank Representative Garballey and Representative O’Day for taking the lead.

Please take action and, after doing so, share this alert with your networks!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Maura Sullivan at sullivan@arcmass.org.
