The Arc of Massachusetts is proud to share that our Chief Executive Officer Maura Sullivan has been appointed by Governor Maura Healey to serve on the Commonwealth’s Profound Autism Advisory Council.
Established via Executive Order, this vital advisory council is convened by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services to shape a comprehensive statewide strategy. Its mission is to improve cross-agency coordination, promote person-centered innovation, expand access to stable housing and healthcare, and address the critical long-term needs of adults over age 22 who require lifelong, 24/7 support due to profound autism.
This appointment honors Maura’s visionary leadership and more than a decade of relentless advocacy on Beacon Hill.
Maura brings professional expertise in health equity and public policy, as well as the invaluable, ground-level perspective of a mother of two young adult sons with autism, one who has profound autism. The Arc could not be more excited to see her seat at this table, where she will continue driving systemic change for individuals and families throughout Massachusetts.
