Last week at its 45th anniversary celebration, the Disability Law Center (DLC) awarded The Arc of Massachusetts its Trailblazer Award. We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition of our work. DLC is a valued partner and over the years we have worked on many key issues impacting people with disabilities and their families, including the registry for staff substantiated of abuse (Nicky’s/Dana’s Law) and addressing the unmet needs of many who need home and community services, especially those who require significant staff support. Our relationship is as strong as ever.
We would like to congratulate our fellow honorees: Emily LaMarca, Fidelity Investments, Wilmer Hale, Senator Michael Rodrigues, and Representative Ruth Balser. As I noted in accepting the award from DLC’s Senior Attorney Hillary Stanisz, The Arc has had a close working relationship with Senator Rodrigues and Representative Basler since they took office. Among The Arc of Massachusetts representatives in attendance was Fred Misilo, Past President of both The Arc of Massachusetts and The Arc of the United States.
Congratulations to all of the honorees and to DLC on its anniversary!
