Please take action and reach out to your State Representative about two critical bills! The Nicky’s Law Expansion bill and the Blue Envelope bill have both passed the Senate and are currently in the House Ways and Means Committee. We need to keep up the momentum and get these bills to the floor of the House for a vote!
The Nicky’s Law Expansion bill extends the protections of Nicky’s Law/Dana’s Law to those receiving services in MassHealth Day Habilitation programs, requiring those programs to use the abuse registry before making hiring decisions.
The Blue Envelope bill aims to facilitate better understanding and communication between law enforcement and individuals with autism. It would allow drivers or vehicle passengers who have autism spectrum disorder to voluntarily request a blue envelope that contains important information to assist in the event of a traffic stop.
