Over the past two months, we have shared several sensory friendly events happening in different communities from Fitchburg to Cape Cod. In Boston, the Boston Pops held its annual sensory friendly event on December 3, while the Boston Ballet’s Nutcracker will be held on December 29. These events show our wider community accommodating persons with disabilities.
On December 6, an Inclusion Summit was held with over 40 attendees. We co-hosted it with the YMCA Cape Cod and Community Connections. Many community organizations participated. The summit emphasized one to one inclusion for persons with disabilities, a goal championed by Pathways to Friendship.
We hope to hold a number of these in the coming year to expand the participation of the wider community, advancing inclusion during a time we need it more than ever.
