This week, The Arc of Massachusetts joined a group of 55 Massachusetts advocates in attending the 2026 Disability Policy Seminar in Washington D.C.
After a full day of learning and connection, we headed to Capitol Hill to meet with each member of the Massachusetts Congressional delegation. Participants from chapters of The Arc, self-advocates, family members, and fellows from LEND Boston and the LEND program at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center at UMass Chan Medical School shared their personal stories to advocate and educate about the critical importance of Medicaid, Social Security, education, and disability funding and raise awareness about how dangerous the current cuts and initiatives are.
Thank you to the offices of Senator Ed Markey, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Representative Jake Auchincloss, Representative Lori Trahan, Representative Stephen Lynch, Representative Richard Neal, Representative Katherine Clark, Representative Jim McGovern, Representative William Keating, Representative Seth Moulton, and Representative Ayanna Pressley for meeting with us, and to all of our participants who shared their stores. We’ll keep advocating!
