On Tuesday, June 9, The Arc of Massachusetts hosted a first of its kind, statewide Mobile Crisis Training Symposium.
We brought together clinical expertise with Amego, Inc. and the NEEDS Center and a lived experience panel to transform how responders support adults with autism.
Parent panelists Jennifer Drohan, Eithne Egan, and Andria Entsminger completely engaged the room by sharing their raw lived experiences. They shared their stories of struggle, hope, and the fierce love that drives them, shifting mindsets and encouraging collaborative partnerships with families during acute crises.
We closed the day with an extraordinary keynote from autistic activist Russell Lehmann. Russell’s story had an incredible impact on everyone in attendance. His honesty and activism inspire deep compassion, and provide clear, actionable strategies for support.
Special thanks to MassHealth, For Health Consulting at UMass Chan Medical School, and the Massachusetts legislature – it takes a village of people with passion!
